Justin Timberlake , 27, and his producer Timbaland have approached Britney Spears's> dad Jamie about a collaboration on a funky hip-hop single to be released later this year, NOW reports

Timbaland, 27, tried in March last year for a reunion, but the mum-of-two, 26, snubbed the approach.

'She has to have a team. She needs to come back with Justin doing records,' he said later. 'Instead, she got big-headed and was like: “Screw you, screw you, I don't need nobody.”'

'Justin wants to help Britney and this is his way of proving to everyone – including her family, who he was always very close to – that he cares,' a family friend tells Now.
