breath underwater.

David Blaine heads underwater for new illusion

The ‘endurance artist’ – who has been buried alive, frozen in a block of ice
and stood on a 100ft pole in previous stunts – will try not to breathe for
longer than the current record of 16 minutes and 14 seconds when he appears
on Oprah Winfrey’s US talk show.
A statement from the programme read: “Facing the threats of heart failure,
brain damage and even death, Blaine will endeavor to hold his breath for
more than 16 minutes and 14 seconds - the record currently held by Tom
Sietas - while submerged in a sphere-shaped aquarium filled with more than
2,500 gallons of water.”
