Though rumors of divorce continue to circulate, Matt Lauer insists to In Touch that his marriage to Annette Roque, 42, is stronger than ever.

The Today host, who wed the Dutch model in 1998, says that the gossip continues to amaze him. “I think for the most part, we let the comments roll off our backs,” he says exclusively. “I mean, you have to. We’re kind of in a period right now where we seem to be fodder for the headlines and we joked the other day that it must have been our turn again! But I honestly feel that’s the way it is.” Matt adds, “The publicist for NBC News called me — I was on vacation — and they said, ‘The tabloids are writing you’re getting divorced. Are you?’ I said, ‘Let them print it because it’s going to seem foolish when they realize we’re on vacation!’ We were skiing.” Matt, 50, also told In Touch at the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association benefit in NYC on March 12 that his wife is “smart and funny. She’s just an extraordinary mom… it’s fun to watch!”
