The police spokesperson said there was no evidence of foul play and a suicide note was found at the scene. Said spokesperson is also a long-time church affiliate. Shawn Lonsdale had been a thorn in Scientology's side for a long time, but recently he gave it up and went back to a "normal" life. Did stepping out of the spotlight make him an easier mark?
Shawn Lonsdale was never actually a member of the Church of Scientology, but after reading about their ways and means became one of their most vocal opponents, even filming church workers coming and going at their Clearwater, FL offices. In response, church workers posted fliers around town that claimed Lonsdale had a history of having public sex with men. The fliers were even said to include his social security number.
No one is quite sure why, but in recent months Shawn had stopped his anti-Scientology activities. He even stopped posting on the web. He just dropped out of sight, some say to resume life as he knew it before Emperor Xenu came knocking. Others are convinced that something far more sinister has taken place, and that the church has eradicated an opponent it could no longer suffer to exist.
I hope Suri has a solid alibi ...
