Hey, if Roger cops a plea now, he could maybe luck out and score a room with baseball's other lyingest douche, Barry Bonds, who's now facing perjury charges. By the way the questions were so carefully couched today, it would appear his inquisitors are setting him up for the same type charges. It's not severe enough.
And what is baseball doing to all these multi-million-dollar players who are now admitting they juiced to stay in the game? Are they going to take Barry's home run record away? How could they not do so? He obviously didn't earn it legitimately. The same goes for Roger's Cy Young Awards - he has earned seven, I believe. Take 'em all away. He doesn't deserve them.
Roger is lying. He will keep on lying, even though the evidence makes his assertions (like he was talking about his wife's use of human growth hormone, not his, or that it was a B-12 shot that made a bump on his ass, not steroids) seem preposterous at best.
Perhaps Elijah E. Cummings, said it best when faced with Clemens' repeated denials: “It’s hard to believe you, Sir,” he said. “I hate to say that. You’re one of my heroes, but it’s hard to believe you.” I feel your pain, Elijah.
