Britney Spears Now Under 14-Day Hold

Britney Spears's hospitalization has been extended to an additional 14-day hold, PEOPLE reports.

Only her psychiatrist would've had the authority to request the involuntary stay. However, it's possible the singer could be out earlier if she legally demands to be released .

Britney Spears is being housed at the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital known as one of the top facilities of its kind; still, "It is a terrible situation," says a source close to the Spears family. "Britney is in a padded room. Her family is so worried about her."
