Beyonce Knowles to play Etta James

Beyonce Knowles has been tapped to play blues singer Etta James in Cadillac Records, a 1950s period flick about the founder of Chicago's Chess Records and his lineup of stars, Star reports.

Beyonce will join Adrien Brody as Chess Records founder Leonard Chess, Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Cedric the Entertainer as Willie Dixon and Columbus Short as Little Walter.
Beyonce is also serving as an executive producer on the film, which will be directed by And Their Eyes Were Watching God director Darnell Martin.
