Dr. Phil's shameless self-promotion during Britney's forced sabbatical from public nudity may have cost him his career ... and now, he may be facing felony charges for his reckless behavior. Producers of his show have been scrambling to book A-List talent for the taping of his 1,000 show, even promising that after a "surprise" walk-on, the celebrity can plug whatever they want, but they've got no takers. Perhaps a retrospective farewell episode would be more appropriate.
TMZ has obtained a copy of a complaint filed against Dr. Phil by a California psychologist who says Dr. Shill was practicing without a license when he ambushed Britney in the psych ward. His staff is now backtracking, saying it was never their intention to get Britney to appear on the show; he was there as a friend of the family. If the board to which the complaint was sent finds it viable it can be sent to the DA, and charges could be filed. Felony charges. Ain't it sweet? The psychologist is also circulating a petition to get Dr. Phil's show yanked. He shouldn't bother - it will probably be canceled soon.
