Chris Stokes was mentor to and producer for a boy band called B2K, among others. Like their counterparts The Backstreet Boys, they enjoyed moderate success, and some members have gone on to enjoy some fame as solo artists. But does B2K also share another, less pleasant common factor, in the form of a sexual predator?
It's so hard to decide who to believe in cases like this. That's why so many molesters get away with their crimes - they're teachers, they're scoutmasters, they're managers or producers. Their alleged victims don't speak up when they're at the top of the charts; it's only when they're strung out, bankrupt or clinically insane ten years down the road that we hear about wrestling with stiffies. And why the hell are they broadcasting it on YouTube? Shouldn't they be telling all this to a cop, a lawyer, a writer for Law & Order?
In the case of Chris Stokes, you don't hear about any molestation from Omarion, the one who's doing well. I've never heard of either Raz B or Ricky Romance, but that could well be on account of my dislike for R&B. Stokes claimed that Raz and Ricky were making it all up because he denied them entry to a club. Raz recorded another video for YouTube recanting his original story and promptly dropped out of sight. Ricky says Stokes is hooked up with both violent gangs and the Chief of the LAPD and Raz was coerced by either or both. All these allegations flying back and forth, yet still the police don't seem to want to get involved. Perhaps they know something we don't ... and have moved on accordingly.
