Amy Winehouse must appear in court

Amy Winehouse must appear in court to appeal charges of possession of marijuana. Norway court requires the person to appear in court before they can appeal.

Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder Civil were arrested October 18 for drug possession. They paid a fine and were released the next day. Norway law states paying a fine is equal to pleading guilty to the crime. Winehouse claims she was unaware of the law.

“I can confirm that she must appear in court. If one appeals a conviction, it’s the rule that one has to appear in person, so this is not surprising,” said a Norway police rep.
