Jack Jordan has been arrested and charged with attempted coercion, aggravated harassment and stalking.

Jordan, 35, of New York, had been sending Uma Thurman e-mails and letters for two years professing his love for her. He had camped outside her house, attempted to visit her on a movie set and even given the actress a hand-drawn picture of herself digging a grave, US reports.

In a recent letter to Uma, Jordan threatened to commit suicide if he saw her dating. "I feel afraid that if I see you out again with another man, I will want to kill myself. Maybe even after we meet."

A judge has signed a protection order which forbids him from going near Uma if he is released on bail before going to court.
