Melanie Brown of the Spice Girls has been very vocal about her ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy's refusal to take responsibility for their daughter Iris.

But it turns out Mel isn't such a good mum herself. According to her former housekeeper, Melanie left her two children behind for four days in June when she married Stephen Belafonte in June.

The housekepper, Tonia Lamere, told Star magazine that Brown left for Vegas telling Lamere that she would return the next day. But Lamere says, "One evening of baby-sitting turned into four days! The child [8-year-old Phoenix] was sick, there was no nanny, and when Mel called, she never even asked about the baby [Iris]."

Because the house wasn't stocked with the necessary supplies, Lamere says she had to buy food for the two girls using her own money.

Brown's rep denied the story to the New York Daily News, stating, "Melanie is a hands-on mother completely dedicated to the upbringing of her children and the well-being of her entire family. Any fictitious accusations to the contrary stem from greedy people looking to make a buck."
