Gossips claimed Spears or one of her sons had broken the leg of the Yorkie puppy the singer bought last month for $3,000, causing the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to pay a visit the pop star’s residence reports US.

According to Madeline Bernstein, President of the L.A. branch of the SPCA, the dog was hurt but the minor injuries were the result of an accident.

“It was a very slight fracture,�? Berstein tells Us. “The dog didn’t need a real cast or surgery. There was just a splint put on the dog.�?

“As it turns out,­ Britney wasn’t there when the dog mishap occurred,�? she says.

“The dog got under someone’s foot in the walk-in closet,�? says Bernstein, who added that the accident didn’t involve the children.
