'The Sopranos' was the big winner at the Emmys scooping the top prize.

2007 59th Annual Emmy Awards

The mob drama, which ended in the US in June, was named Best Drama Series
and also picked up two other awards.
The cast were honored with a standing ovation from the star-studded
audience as they took to the stage to accept the prestigious accolade.
The show's creator and director, David Chase, said: "This amazing cast is
really what it comes down to. It really is all about them."
'The Sopranos' has missed out on the top prize on five occasions, but did
win it in 2004.
However, the program's main star James Gandolfini missed out on the Best
Drama Actor accolade to 'Boston Legal' actor James Spader.
Dame Helen Mirren followed up her Oscar win in February by being named as
Best Actress in a Mini Series or TV Movie for her role in 'Prime Suspect:
The Final Act and Extras'.
When collecting her gong, the British actress said: "You know, you Americans
are wonderfully generous people.
"You're a lot of other things as well - some good, some bad - but you know
if I was to categorize your nature, it's generosity above all."
Two-time Oscar winner Sally Field won the Best Drama Actress award for her
part in hit show 'Brothers and Sisters', while 'Ugly Betty' star America
Ferrara was named Best Comedy Actress.
Ricky Gervais was named Best Comedy Actor for his role in hit British show
'Extras' although he was unable to attend the ceremony.
Other winners at the glitzy ceremony, which was held at Los Angeles' Shine
Auditorium, included 'Lost' star Terry O'Quinn and 'Grey's Anatomy' actress
Katherine Heigl.
