He was told: “If you go to this place to have detox and take advantage of it then we will see what sentence is appropriate when you next come.
“But if you do not I can tell you now that you will go into custody.?
Doherty was surrounded by press outside the courtroom and told the press, “I have got no choice, have I. It’s rehab or jail. I was going to rehab anyway to be honest with you - this is just a little push.?
Just before the postponement of a sentence, Doherty pleaded guilty to possessing Class A and Class C drugs as well as pleading guilty to possessing quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine and to two driving offences. Awesome!
And as a cherry on top, he also showed up for the court appearance two and a half hours late.
Note to Doherty: We know your relationship with Kate is on the rocks right now but don't use that as an excuse to move to the states. You see where a little case of a DUI landed Paris... you're practically electric chair material on this side of the pond.
