District Judge Davinder Lachhar warned the Babyshambles rocker that he would send him to prison if he failed to attend a detox programme before his sentencing on August 7, British newspaper The Sun reports.

He was told: “If you go to this place to have detox and take advantage of it then we will see what sentence is appropriate when you next come.

“But if you do not I can tell you now that you will go into custody.�?

Doherty was surrounded by press outside the courtroom and told the press, “I have got no choice, have I. It’s rehab or jail. I was going to rehab anyway to be honest with you - this is just a little push.�?

Just before the postponement of a sentence, Doherty pleaded guilty to possessing Class A and Class C drugs as well as pleading guilty to possessing quantities of crack cocaine, heroin, cannabis and ketamine and to two driving offences. Awesome!
And as a cherry on top, he also showed up for the court appearance two and a half hours late.

Note to Doherty: We know your relationship with Kate is on the rocks right now but don't use that as an excuse to move to the states. You see where a little case of a DUI landed Paris... you're practically electric chair material on this side of the pond.
