Geri, the original lead singer of the world-dominating Spice Girls, took it upon herself "to persuade her former bandmates to dust down their platform heels and settle their differences," British newspaper The Sun reports.

Her biggest hurdle was not-surprisingly, Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham. By the time Geri got reunion fever, Victoria was undeniably way too rich and in love with her incredible hubby David Bechkam to really give a care.

The paper also reports that out of all the Spice Girls, it was Victoria who took Geri's departure the hardest.

A source told The Sun, "Geri began getting in contact with Victoria again in 2004. She knew how hurt Victoria was but she also knew how to push the right buttons.

"Geri broke down in front of Victoria, apologised for leaving the band in the way she did and begged for her forgiveness.

"She also told Victoria how awful her life was at the time. She was lonely, confused, didn't have a man and didn't even have a place to call home. Victoria started to feel sorry for Geri.
"The girls were then regularly in touch and Victoria found she enjoyed spending time with her old bandmates."

Too bad it's also being reported in the press that Posh is already having second thoughts as she feel she's getting drowned out by Geri and the other girls.

It will be very interesting to see how long Posh slums it up with the girls before she does a mad dash back to her fabulous new Hollywood life.
