Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds engaged

Eddie Murphy and his girlfriend of less than one year, Tracey Edmonds are engaged. OK! magazine is reporting that the 46-year-old funnyman proposed to 40-year-old Edmonds on Wednesday with a “massive� yellow diamond ring from Cartier, estimated to be 8 carats.

A source close to the couple said, "They're very adorable together, very happy." Murphy and Edmonds hope to marry before the end of the year. “It will be a private wedding. Something low key and very romantic,� said the snitch.

On Thursday, Edmonds was spotted celebrating her engagement with pals over lunch at the W Hotel in Westwood, California. An onlooker said, “She looked very happy. She was proudly showing off the ring.�

This will be the second marriage for both Edmonds and Murphy. Edmonds was married for 13 years to singer Kenneth “Babyface� Edmonds, while Murphy and Nicole Mitchell were married for 12 years before divorcing in 2006.
