DAVID BECKHAM PARTIES BEFORE PRACTICE

David Beckham had his first training session with his new soccer team, LA Galaxy, yesterday but don't think he tried to make a good impression by showing up well-rested and ready to go.

British newspaper The Sun reports that Beckham and wife Victoria got in at 2 am yesterday morning from a night of partying at LA hot spot Chateau Marmont despite the soccer star's 8 am practice start.

Beckham made a little pit-stop at Starbuck's before heading to practice and even chatted with some latte loving fans.

Apparently the consummate professional and totally used to partying late and practicing early, Beckham made it through the 3 hour session without a hitch.

The Sun also reports that Beckham has a little plan up his sleeve to win over any waning hearts and minds on his team. It's no secret that spirits are low on the team caused in part by less-than-stellar performance (they've only won 3 games in the last 12) and all the attention David's arrival has been getting.

The paper quotes Beckham as saying, " It's important to get to know the players and also for Victoria to get to know the players' wives and girlfriends."

A source at the club told the paper, "The other players feel they've been sidelined but David is prepared to work hard to win them over."

He is apparently planning to host a big shindig at his new LA pad for the team.

It's bad enough for team morale that Beckham is making a billion times more money than any of the other players. We think inviting them to a house they'll never have the means to afford will only add insult to injury.
