Rod Stewart marries longtime girlfriend

Let’s hope the third time is the charm for Rod Stewart. On Saturday in Italy, the 62-year-old singer married 36-year-old model Penny Lancaster, his girlfriend of seven years and the mother of his son Alastair.

There were two ceremonies. The first took place at Villa Durazzo in Santa Margherita. Only Lancaster, Stewart and two witnesses – Lancaster’s parents - were present. The second ceremony happened in a village near Portofino at La Cervara. A statement released by the pair said, "The couple exchanged vows in the presence of 100 family and friends.�

Following the second ceremony, a dinner reception was held. A band played “Cockney favorites,� reported the Daily Mail. Later there were fireworks, but the newlyweds retired to their nearly $250,000/week yacht before the partying ended.

The couple will enjoy "a Mediterranean holiday," said Stewart’s rep, before the singer has to return to the UK for a tour.
