Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal split

It looks like Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have called it quits – even before they ever officially stepped out as a couple. Us Weekly claims that break up is due to Reese’s continued confusion over her broken marriage to Ryan Phillippe.

A source close to the actress told Us, “She has either called it off or is just taking a break…She cares for Jake, but the timing is crappy. She doesn’t have enough emotional space for him right now.�?

Reese is likely to stay cooped up in her Los Angeles home following the split. An insider told Us, “She’s worried that when she’s in public, everyone’s talking about her failed marriage.�?
