PAULA ABDUL'S OKAY BUT HURT OVER LEAK
What is it with Paula Abdul and leaked private telephone conversations? First there were the stalker voicemail's she left on a hot, young and booted-off American Idol contestant (no need to mention his name, you don't remember him anyway.) Then a coupe of days ago, a secretly taped phone conversation of a sobbing Abdul surfaced in which she trashes her former publicist Howard Bragman and discloses having Addison's disease, an adrenal disorder that causes chronic fatigue and muscle weakness. Abdul opened up to People Mag about her latest public fiasco at last night's afterparty for the Fragrance Foundation's FiFi Awards in New York City. "Look at me, I'm okay, really I am... I'm doing just fine and don't have to explain myself to anyone. It hurts. The leak, that's illegal. That was a private conversation. That was a violation of my privacy and totally illegal." When asked about her alleged medical condition, she told the magazine, "I haven't been diagnosed with it. I'm just exhausted. Sometimes I have really low blood sugar levels. It's all because I work very hard, that's it. When you work as hard as I do, you become exhausted. That's what happens. I'm working on five different projects right now. And now people are saying I have Addison's. I'm tired."
To add insult to injury, Paula was away in London when the phone recording leaked and had no idea it was all the buzz in the states. It was only after she returned last night that she realized the scope of the scandal.
