Paris Hilton Suicidal in Prison

Star has learned the real reason Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca wanted Paris Hilton out of jail – he was afraid Paris would kill herself while in his custody!

A source close to the Hilton family tells Star that Paris, fell into a deep depression while incarcerated and threatened to commit suicide. “Jail was worse than anything she had ever imagined,� the source says. “She started having sever panic attacks and breaking out in night sweats, and she couldn’t sleep because she was without the sleeping pills she was used to taking.�

“All Paris could do was pace up and down her tiny jail cell [12’ x 8’], sobbing uncontrollably,� says the source, adding that her mother, Kathy, was so concerned that she sent Paris’ therapist to the jail to see her. When Charles Sophy, M.D., reported back that Paris was suicidal, Kathy set about doing whatever she could to get her daughter out of jail. “Kathy arranged for the therapist to send a report to the jail officials, and he was able to convince them that Paris was mentally unstable and needed to be treated at home,� the source reveals. “Taking her fame into account, the authorities felt that it was too much of a liability to keep a disturbed inmate threatening to kill herself in custody.�

On June 8, Pairs was escorted back to the L.A. Superior Courthouse. “Paris was joined by her parents, he aunt and a few body guards,� a courtroom observer tells Star, “She was depressed in a gray sweat suit and was crying during the whole hearing.� Another courtroom observer reveals, “Paris was trembling and shaking uncontrollably. She had her hair pulled back and wasn’t wearing any makeup. She kept looking back at her mom and dad, and when the judge announced hi final verdict that she be sent back to jail for the remainder of her original 45-day sentence, Paris just burst into tears screeching ‘Mom, Mom! It’s not right!’�
