An AP reporter in the courtroom says Hilton shouted "It's not right!" then called out "Mom!" to Kathy Hilton who was also in the room and in tears.
Paris was brought to court in handcuffs in a sheriff's car and appeared completely out of her usual character. She wore a gray oversized sweatshirt, slacks, no makeup and disheveled hair tied to the back. It must have come as a shock to the hoards of paparazzi and media who have gotten used to Paris showing up to court dates dressed to impress. This is the woman who hired a style team to do her up for her first night in jail.
"At no time did I approve the defendant being released from custody to her home on Kings Road ," Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer said.
The hearing was requested by the city attorney's office who also asked the judge to hold Sherriff Lee Baca in contempt of court for reassigning Hilton to home detention despite the judge's order that she serve her sentence in jail. The judge didn't take up the suggestion but Sheriff Lee Baca is now coming under heavy fire and many blame him for having added fuel to the fire of this fiasco.
In a press conference today, Sherriff Baca said he would keep Paris in a "better facility, one that has a more intense form of medical support and will watch her behavior so that there isn't anything that is harmfully done to herself by herself."
Has it really come to suicide watch??? How did we get here??? It's almost hard not to feel a just a little sorry for our favorite fallen heiress.
