PAMELA ANDERSON SAYS NO TO Finnish FUR

Pamela Anderson has penned an open letter to the president of Finland asking him to outlaw fur farming, the AP reports.

In the letter to President Tarja Halonen, Anderson said, "I am proud of my Finnish family roots, but I was disappointed to learn that more foxes are killed in Finland than nearly anywhere else in the world."

The buxom TV star was visiting Finland to celebrate Midsummer's night and apparently caught the urge to do a little campaigning on behalf of animal rights.

Anderson's letter did not fall on deaf ears. Halonen thanked the former Bay Watch babe for the letter, but informed her that it is up to the Finnish government to make such decisions on fur farming.

Finland is among Europe's top four fur producing nations along with Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands. Its annual fur production is said to be worth about $335 million dollars.
