Nicole Richie and Joel Madden engaged?

Life’s a whole lot simpler when you don’t have a child to care for, but that doesn’t seem to have stopped Nicole Richie from getting pregnant. Pregnancy speculation has been surrounding the starlet for a few weeks because of her suddenly protruding belly. Now, in addition to the baby, Nicole could have a shotgun wedding to plan. Page Six is reporting that she may be engaged to boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte.

Last Thursday, Nicole and Joel went to the YSL Pool Party at the Beverly Hills Hotel. But it wasn’t Miss Richie’s baby bump that was getting the guests’ attention; it was the sparkler on her ring finger. Page Six’s source said, "It was one big rock surrounded by more diamonds.�?

Both Page Six and the New York Daily News made note of the fact that Nicole turned down the booze at the event - "a first for her," said Page Six’s source. The snitch added that Joel was "overly attentive to [Nicole] - keeping his arm around her all night - and repeatedly asked her if she was OK."
