Mary-Kate Olsen fights her inner troll doll

Mary-Kate Olsen: sometimes she looks great; usually she looks like a troll doll that hasn't eaten in months. Unfortunately her troll doll tendencies are winning out over her more attractive qualities on the set of "Weeds," the Showtime drama in which she's set to appear in 10 episodes. Sources on the set of the quirky show snitched to TMZ.com that Mary-Kate is spending more time getting her make up done that she is filming.

No, Mary-Kate isn't playing some sort of alien or even an "Ugly Betty"-type character that would require long hours in the make up room. She's actually just playing a young Christian girl named Tara. But the problem is that, as stated, Tara is young. And Mary-Kate's coffee and cigarette addiction has aged her beyond her nearly 21 years.

TMZ says, "several crew members were overheard commenting on how surprisingly old [Mary-Kate] looks in person." The site also claims that her time in the make up chair is used to "cover up her dark circles and other assorted blemishes." If the make up doesn't do the trick, an insider revealed that editors will give MK a post-production makeover.

Maybe the "Weeds" producers should just hire Mary-Kate's regular make-up artist. The mini-mogul looked better than she has in months at Sunday's CFDA Awards nominees dinner in New York.
