George Clooney slams Paris Hilton

George Clooney has slammed Paris Hilton .

The Oscar-winning actor believes the blonde beauty is using "cheap publicity tricks" to maintain her celebrity status.

Clooney insisted that Hilton has no right to complain when she is criticized by the media outlets that helped to make her famous.

He said: "You can only get so far without any discernible talent. Then you either work or use cheap publicity tricks to keep the public's attention.

"Then you are in no position to complain if, like Paris, you are on the receiving end of bad publicity."

On Friday, Paris Hilton entered the Los Angeles County Superior Court with tears streaming down her face at 11:09 a.m. PST. She was sobbing even more when she exited the courtroom an hour later after L.A. Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer ordered Hilton to return to the Century Regional Detention Facility in suburban Lynwood, California, just one day after sheriff's officials released her to house arrest.
