Tom Cruise rents three houses for Katie Holmes

According to Star magazine, Katie initially rented a house near the Mad Money set in the Southern Trace neighborhood of Shreveport. But Tom did not want Katie to be so vulnerable and instead insisted that Katie move into a gated community further away.

An insider tells Star, "He wants Katie and Suri to be away from everyone! Not only has he apparently rented the second house in the North Cross section of Cross Lake [another posh neighborhood 20 minutes from Southern Trace], but he's also rented out the houses on either side to make sure they have their privacy."

Katie is not backing down on this issue, though. Sources claim that she stays in the house Tom rented while he is in town, but as soon as he leaves, she moves back into the Southern Trace house.
