Rihanna spills on her dad's battle with crack addiction

Bajan beauty Rihanna spills on her new image in the new issue of Giant Magazine.

"I wanted to get out of my innocent, generic shell that everyone is used to molding me into," she says in the new picture-packed Giant magazine. "I was like, 'To hell with that!' "

In the interview, Rihanna also revealed that won't be following in the footsteps of other bad girl starlets reports NYDN. Her childhood was spent watching her father battle a crack addiction to keep her on the straight and narrow.

"I just knew that my mom and dad would always argue when there was a foil paper with an ashtray," she says. "He would just go into the bathroom all the time. I didn't know what it was. ... [But] he knew that to get closer to [his kids], he had to cut that out. And he did."
