Prince to Michael: "Just Beat It!"

By Emmis Rodriguez

Dishy British rag The Sun is reporting that Michael Jackson recently begged Prince to tour with him in order to help resuscitate his embattled music career but the Purple One, way too busy with his own recent successes, and had to pass. Jackson, who's slated to make a return to the charts sometime next year is said to be on the hunt for as much pop star support as he can get to help offset the bad press still lingering after his acquittal on child molestation charges.

A source tells the dishy rag that "Michael seemed pretty gutted about it. He said he'd approached Prince to see if he would like to work together. But Prince wasn't interested in gigging with him.

"There would be so much hype surrounding Wacko's first gig it would end up turning into the Michael Jackson show."

"Prince had his own plans. He is a legend in his own right. He doesn't need to be support for anyone."

And isn't that the truth? Prince is slated to play 21 concerts in London this summer, his only European dates of the year, and tickets to the shows have quickly become the must-have item of the season in the UK. He will also appear at Macy's in Minneapolis on June 7th where 1,400 lucky guests will shell out $250 bucks each to hear the legend croon and receive a bottle of his new perfume "3121."
