Former "Lost" star Michelle Rodriguez was sentenced to 60 days in the very same facility in which Paris is scheduled to do time for the very same offense -- probation violation over a DUI conviction. Rodriguez served 2 hours before jail officials let her out.
“[T]oday’s ruling sends a clear message that in the city of Los Angeles no one is above the law, said Nick Velasquez of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office.
Hilton's attorney, Howard Weitzman, told reporters he was "shocked and disappointed" by the sentence. "To sentence Paris Hilton to jail is uncalled for, inappropriate and ludicrous," Weitzman said. "She was singled out for who she is. She's been selectively targeted. Paris was honest in her testimony. We plan to appeal. Shame on the system."
The City Attorney's Office Press Deputy Frank Mateljan told Us: "She would need to show the court abused its discretion. We proved our case above and beyond what is required. We are extremely confident it will hold up in any court as it did today."
Hilton, 26, arrived to court ten minutes late for the hearing in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade with her parents, Rick and Kathy Hilton.
Moments after Paris Hilton was sentenced to serve 45 in the clink, gossips claimed that Paris Hilton's mother, Kathy, rushed over to the lead prosecutor and lashed out, "I want your autograph. This is pathetic."
In the same breath, as she walked out of the courtroom, Kathy looked up and said, "I can't believe all the money we spent on this," TMZ reports
