Melanie Brown to take Eddie Murphy to court over daughter
Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown is not going to back down in her fight with ex-boyfriend, Eddie Murphy, who she claims fathered her daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. Brown is taking Murphy to court in order to force him to take a paternity test, reports People magazine. Brown says, “I just think no woman should have to go through that and no baby should have to go through that. Be responsible. What else can you say? According to the singer, Eddie has not made any effort to reach out to Angel since she was born last month. Brown told People, "He hasn't seen his daughter. My people have contacted his people and they just had no response to anything." Murphy has also been uncooperative in Brown’s attempts to confirm his paternity. She said, "He's not doing a DNA test and he's not signing the birth certificate. So it's going to have to go to court so he can be forced to do it, which is strange since he was the one asking for it." Brown is referring to the statement Murphy made on a Dutch TV show in December: "I don't know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test." Still, Brown seems relatively positive about Murphy despite his reluctance to step forward as her child’s father. She calls him "a great guy." In fact, Melanie, who has another daughter from a previous relationship, seems quite positive about life in general. She says, "I feel great! I'm happy. I was a happy pregnant woman and now I'm a happy new mom. Life goes on, and I have two beautiful children." |
