Jennifer Lopez forced to testify

Jennifer Lopez must testify in response to a lawsuit which claims she stole the idea for her TV show 'South Beach', reports Female First.

Writer Jack Bunick claims that Jennifer Lopez stole the idea from him and is asking for $180,000 per aired episode of the show reports TMZ.

Jennifer Lopez's lawyer Orin Snyder argued that Lopez had minimal involvement in the development of the show.

Bunick's lawyer, Sheldon Farber, responded to Lopez' saying, "I am unaware that one of the perks of fame is protection from the legal process."

Writer Jack Bunick filed a lawsuit last year alleging the idea for the now-canceled series - which first aired in January 2006 - was modeled on a 1999 pilot episode for his show 'South Beach Miami'.

Judge Henry Pitman has ordered executive producer Lopez - who was one of six defendants named in Bunick's claim along with broadcasters UPN and CBS Television - to provide her sworn testimony in the case by June 11.
