It’s been a good week for 39-year-old "Grey's Anatomy" star Kate Walsh. Her new show, the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off tentatively titled "Private Practice," has been picked up for the fall season and she just got engaged.

The lucky man is 36-year-old Alex Young, production co-president at 20th Century Fox. The couple only made their first official outing together last month.

Walsh told People magazine, "I'm engaged. Alex asked me to marry him and I said yes. We were in San Francisco last week and I'm very, very, very happy…He's the most amazing man I ever met. We're in the process of planning the wedding."

Kate also spoke to Us Weekly about her news, stating, "It happened a few days ago. And that’s all I can say. I’m on cloud nine.�

Of Walsh’s Neil Lane engagement ring, her “Private Practice� co-star Merrin Dungey said to People, "I was blinded. I saw when she walked into the room and I said, 'Jesus.' It's very exciting."
