Denise Richards comes clean

Remember a year ago when people actually cared about Denise Richards and the twisted love triangle between her, her former friend, Heather Locklear and her Heather's ex, Richie Sambora? Well, Denise is trying to milk that forgotten interest in her favor and has just given a tell-all interview to OK! magazine.

Denise wasn't afraid to speak out about her much-ballyhooed relationship with Bon Jovi guitarist Richie and the backlash it caused both of them - as long as she came out looking good in the end. She says media coverage of their romance (which often made Heather out to be an angel) "was really one-sided. I was shocked at how judgmental people are. Nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors, except for the people involved….I didn't have an affair with Richie during his marriage, nor did he during mine. I am a loyal girlfriend and a good friend. I hadn't spoken to Heather in quite a few months when Richie and I got together."

When asked by OK! if she thought she stepped over the line by dating her friend's former husband, Denise said she and Richie did "nothing technically wrong, but I understand why Heather was jealous or upset. I have to suck it up and take the consequences for that." Denise rationalizes her decision to hook up with Richie, stating, "Quite frankly we couldn't help it. The attraction [between me and Richie] was there and we have such a strong connection." Richards thinks there is no chance that she will become friends with Locklear again, but she says, "I wish her well."
