After Gwyneth Paltrow gave birth to daughter Apple in May 2004, she didn’t want to go back to work. “You have a baby and it changes everything,� says the 34-year-old. “In one minute you are completely redefined.� And for three years, the wife of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, 30, stayed home with her beautiful daughter and cute-as-a-button son, Moses, who was born in April 2006. But lately, Gwyneth has felt the itch to get back to acting. “I have the feeling back,� she says. “And I’m excited about the prospect.� Still, she has no regrets about focusing on her family. “It’s 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and they want you present and real and connected and there, but it’s been the best three years of my life.�

I like picking them up from school. I like putting them in the bath,� she says. “I consider myself a very hands-on mother.�

She gave birth to son Rocco on August 11, 2000, and, with husband Guy Ritchie, adopted David, 1, from Malawi last October. “Lourdes and Rocco are completely in love with their new baby brother,� says Madonna. “They just embraced him.�

The newborn’s pillowy pout is the mirror image of her mother’s, but she’s not the only member of the Jolie- Pitt crew to take after her parents. “I think they’re going to be not unlike us,� Angelina says about her brood, which now includes the newly adopted Pax, 3. “They’re very bold people and they’re very brave.�
