The couple may have called it quits because they just don’t have much in common. Ryan “is very into the L.A. art scene. All his friends are artsy and smart.� Plus he did not “approve of Rachel’s movie choices.�

Ryan’s rep denies this insisting, “They purposely have not been involved with each other’s career choices.�

In early April, reports surfaced that the couple were planning to wed in a secret ceremony this year after a source close to McAdams spoke to US Magazine. "They’re madly in love and plan on getting married this year," said the source.

According to the source, apparently the couple wanted to "…avoid the press. So they agreed to get engaged and married on the same day - and won’t allow their families to talk about it."

However a McAdams spokesperson has denied the claims.
