MOVIE
BLACKOUT, directed and written by Jerry Lamothe and produced by Judith Aidoo of Caswell Capital, will make its World Premiere in the discovery competition at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival.
The 2003 blackout was the largest in North American history, effecting millions on a seasonably hot day, yet there were almost no reports of violence… with one exception. East Flatbush in Brooklyn exploded with violent behavior recalling the city’s 1977 blackout, and even Hurricane Katrina. Looting and ransacking took over the small neighborhood as racial tensions rose with little or no help from the New York Police Department.
