Spears entered Malibu Promises Residential Treatment Center on February 22 and was released on March 20.
"They are not going to return custody to Britney as a reward for doing her stint in rehab. Kevin's had the children for six weeks and he will continue to have full custody."
"Britney has to really demonstrate she can retain sobriety. She was just introduced into a sober lifestyle. Can she maintain it?"
Meanwhile, Britney Spears stunned friends and family with news she's found love again - with an alcoholic she hooked up with while in rehab reports NW Magazine.
Despite earlier indications she was looking for a fresh start with hubby Kevin Federline, it seems that Brit, 25, only has eyes for 33-year-old musician Jason Filyaw.
"When Britney walked into the AA meeting she was wearing a blonde wig to cover her bald head," says a pal of the musician. "Jason told me, 'It had been over three years since we'd been together, and we laughed and hugged. When Britney saw my shaved head, she took her wig off, touched her head to mine and said, 'We could be twins.'"
Leaving the meeting together, Britney and Jason went for coffee before exchanging phone numbers. Since then the pair have been in close contact, with Britney breaking Promises' phone restrictions to talk to her new crush.
"He calls her Sugar, Kitten and My Lady," reveals one insider. "She calls him Mr Secret Underground Guy and J-Sun."
Jason claims to love the troubled pop star. "I love her, I support her 100 per cent, and we are close," Jason told a US reporter while describing their relationship as "special".
In other news, Britney Spears will give Kevin Federline nearly £10 million in their divorce
settlement.
The singer has agreed to give her estranged husband £1 million in cash, plus
half her earnings from their two year marriage.
In the out of court settlement, Kevin will also receive half of the money
made from selling their Malibu marital home.
