Details on Salma Hayek's romance

When Salma Hayek's rep announced last week that the actress was pregnant and engaged to French businessman, Francois-Henri Pinault, many were taken aback. Hayek was rarely seen with Pinault, so few knew she was even in a relationship. An insider has told Us Weekly that Hayek's decision to settle down has a lot to do with her ticking biological clock.

The snitch said, "Salma and Francois haven't even been dating a year. They were friends for awhile. The truth is that Salma is 40 years old and really wanted a baby. She's gotten to point where she really wanted a baby."

But even though Hayek and Pinault are still in the early stages of their romance, Hayek seems to be sure she's found the right man. The source says, "Francois treats her amazingly and she knew he would be a good father...[Her friends are] just really happy for her because this is what she's wanted. She's spent years with the wrong guys, but she finally found someone that treats her really well."
