Ashlee Simpson hooks up with Ryan Phillippe

Ryan Phillippe has been pretty low key since his split from his wife of seven years, Reese Witherspoon. Though he is said to be a regular on the club scene, he has yet to be linked to anyone new since his rumored dalliance with Stop Loss co-star Abbie Cornish. At least until now. The actor is said to have had a wild night with singer Ashlee Simpson earlier this month.

The pair wound up sitting together at Les Deux on March 3 when Phillippe arrived at the LA club just after midnight and found that Simpson's table was the only one with any space left. The situation ended up working out for both of them. According to a source for Australian tabloid NW, "They seemed very into each other." Another onlooker said, "Ashlee was really excited. You could tell she had a huge crush on him."

Around 2 am, Ashlee and Ryan were still enjoying each other’s company and decided to head up to the club's private area called The Library. A little over an hour later, the pair appeared again looking a bit tousled. A friend told NW, "We knew something went on."

Phillippe and Simpson's evening didn’t end there. Though they left separately, a source says they "met at her place. He spent the night!" Another close source said, "I think they will hook up again."
