Richard Milstein - court appointed guardian for Anna Nicole's five-month-old
daughter Dannielynn - told crowds gathered outside the Mount Horeb Baptist
Church: "Today we share our grief with all of you. Today we come to you to
carry out the final, most sacred, solemn act provided to any individual."
The late model-and-actress' mother, Virgie Arthur, and ex-boyfriend, Larry
Birkhead, were both present although Dannielynn was not brought to the
ceremony.
Celebrity guests included Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash and country singer
Joe Nichols.
After the service, Anna Nicole's coffin was taken to Lake View cemetery,
where she was buried in a tiara and custom-made, beaded gown next to her
son, Daniel, who died of drug-related causes last September.
Anna Nicole died aged just 39 on February 8 after being found unconscious in
a Florida hotel room.
In the wake of her death a court battle for the custody of her body ensued
after her mother said she wanted her buried near the family home in Texas.
Meanwhile, tourists who disembark from cruise liners at Nassau each day have been asking for the "Anna Nicole tour" as part of their day on New Providence island, according to taxi drivers.
"It's sad that she died but we don't look at the negative. There are persons in the taxi industry who are making money because people come here asking to go to the house, the cemetery and the hospital," said Burcil Anderson, a taxi driver waiting in a line of minivans at the port.
The Anna Nicole tour starts at Doctors' Hospital in Nassau, where her son Daniel died in September just days after she gave birth to a daughter, Dannielynn.
From there it weaves up to Lake View cemetery where Anna Nicole has been buried with the ashes of her late-husband, the oil billionaire J. Howard Marshall and in a grave next to her son.
But the highlight of the tour is Horizons, the seaside home at the eastern end of the island that the pin-up shared with her companion Howard K Stern and which he now shares with Dannielynn, Smith's five-month-old heiress.
In other news, Howard K. Stern has reportedly admitted he's not the father of Anna Nicole Smith's daughter Dannielynn and is now willing to sign over the paternity rights to the man who believes he is the baby's real dad, Larry Birkhead — for the right price reports NW Magazine.
Since Anna Nicole's shock death last month at the age of 39, the legal wrangling over paternity has increased, with an adamant Larry continuing the fight he started when Dannielynn was born last September.
While Howard is listed as the girl's father on the birth certificate, insiders say that, during a recent meeting with Larry, he confessed he's not the dad. While Anna Nicole fought to keep Larry away from Dannielynn while she was alive, Howard let his former lover's rival meet the baby recently.
In exchange for giving Dannielynn to Larry, insiders say Howard wants ongoing control of Anna Nicole's estate. Once all the issues surrounding the estate have been settled, he also wants to become Dannielynn's trustee.
