Angelina Jolie's New Boy, Pax Thien Jolie

Angelina Jolie left an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City last night, and took with her a boy from the Tam Binh home. Staff and children gathered to welcome Angelina and her adopted Cambodian
son Maddox, five, as they arrived in a Toyota minivan with dark windows.

Nguyen Van Trung, director of the orphanage, said: "This morning he woke up
at six, just like all the children.

"He put on new clothes, and he was very excited.

Angelina then visited the Department of Justice in Ho Chi Minh City, where
she took part in a ceremony granting her official possession of the child.

"The boy's name is Pax Thien Jolie, born in November 2003, according to the orphanage where he has lived. His name means Peaceful Sky – Pax is peace in Latin and Thien is sky in Vietnamese reports People Magazine

The boy had been living at the Tam Binh orphanage outside Ho Chi Minh City ever since he was abandoned at a hospital as a baby, according to adoption officials. Shortly after he arrived at the facility, staff attempted to locate his birth parents, but to no avail.

Angelina Jolie and Pax Thien Jolie got into a Toyota SUV which then sped over to the Department of Justice, where Jolie may have finished the paperwork for the adoption, reports the AP.

Jolie's rep says she took custody of the child on Thursday in Vietnam. They will remain in the country for about a week while the child's American passport is processed, the rep says.

Angelina, 31 - who is dating Brad Pitt - has made a solo application to
become the child's parent because it is difficult for unmarried couples to
adopt under Vietnamese law.

Angelina and Brad, 43, jointly adopted two-year-old Ethiopian baby Zahara.
Brad is a legal guardian to Maddox, and the couple also have a 10-month-old
biological daughter, Shiloh.

"Brad very much wanted to be there but is under contract working on a film in Los Angeles and as a result couldn't go," Trevor Neilson, Jolie's adviser on international affairs, tells PEOPLE.

"He is in good health," orphanage director Nguyen Van Trung told the Associated Press, adding that the boy gets along with the other children and likes playing soccer. "He is a little bit shy."

Trung also said Jolie's adoption was swiftly processed because the boy is older and his files were already nearly complete.
