Angelina Jolie has also refused to listen to her partner Brad Pitt's pleas to stop traveling alone to war zones, despite her recent admission she was the target of a kidnapping plot reports NW Magazine.
While Brad admires Angelina Jolie's humanitarian efforts, he's worried something will happen to his partner, who insists on traveling without bodyguards.
"It was in a small village," Ange says of the plot to kidnap her. "I won't say where, or with whom, but some gangsters planned to kidnap me and extort a massive ransom. I was warned at the last minute, and managed to escape, luckily."
Despite the threats, Angelina refuses to take a security team with her. "I take no-one," says the independent actress. "I [go] by myself on a commercial plane and into the field with my backpack.
"The first two years I just cried constantly," she says. "I went through a period of complete lack of hope."
"If I can draw you in a little because I'm familiar, then that's great," says the UN Goodwill Ambassador.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie and her newly adopted son left Vietnam by private jet yesterday 21.03.07).
Mother and son boarded a Gulfstream jet at Noi Bai Airport and are en route
back to New Orleans to the home Angelina shares with Brad Pitt and their
three children - five-year-old Maddox, adopted from Cambodia, two-year-old
Zahara, adopted from Ethiopia, and ten-month-old biological daughter Shiloh.
The 'Tomb Raider' star adopted three-year-old Pax Thien Jolie from the Tam
Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City last week
They then traveled to the country's capital Hanoi to obtain a visa allowing
him to return to the US with Angelina and her family.
Angelina and Brad visited the Tam Binh orphanage last November to distribute
Thanksgiving gifts to the children, and it was then they met and decided to
adopt Pax.
"He is a very serious, very sweet little boy," a delighted Angelina tells Hello!
"You can imagine what courage it takes to be in all new surroundings with new people and a new language. He is very strong."
Last week, Angelina claimed she will be a stay-at-home parent.
She said: "I will stay home with Pax and help him adjust to his new life.
"I have four children, and caring for them is the most important thing to me
at the moment."
However, in just a few months the 31-year-old actress is due to begin
filming 'Wanted' - a thriller co-starring James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman,
in which she plays an assassin.
