The Beckhams to star in scripted reality show

There are always allegations that reality shows have been rigged or that the shows' stars play up to the camera. But one upcoming reality series may actually feature scripted roles. Are reality series producers going too far?

According to the National Enquirer, the offending show will be about soccer star David Beckham and his wife, former Spice Girl, Victoria and their move to Los Angeles. Said an insider, "The show has a lot going for it - one of the world's hottest and most stylish celebrity couples, their exciting relocation to Los Angeles and David's historic joining of the L.A. Galaxy soccer team. But they feel they needed to juice up the show's excitement quotient for the couple, so Posh's bodyguard and personal assistant will have scripted roles."

The show's executive producer, Simon Fuller is Victoria's manager and was also one of the creators of "American Idol." He thought that David and Victoria's life was not dramatic enough for an American reality show. The Enquirer source says, "[Fuller is] sure the Beckhams are going to be the next big thing on American television. They just need a little extra help getting there."

Fuller proposed having scripted roles for the bodyguard and personal assistant and cast the parts himself. He chose people that he thought that "Victoria…[could] battle with each show," reports the Enquirer.
