They are both rich and single and have both had their share of broken romances. What’s the truth about Jen and Keanu?

Just barely back on the dating scene, the actress reportedly spent an evening with Keanu Reeves. On paper these two look like the prefect match. “Jen’s type is good looking, wealthy, and spontaneous,� a source tells Star. “Her man has to be successful in what he does and can’t be threatened by her fortune and fame.� His meeting with Jen in December was, a friend notes, about business. “They were set up by Keanu’s agent. There’s a script floating around that people want Keanu and Jennifer to co-star in,� the friend says. “They talked for hours about it, but it’s still up in the air whether they are going to commit to the film.� However, the two singleton A-listers have chatted on the phone a few times since. “I think Jen would welcome an invitation from him to go out, but he hasn’t asked,� says the source. “Jen was really taken with him- he’s funny and really self-effacing and in many ways is actually pretty shy.�

Will Ashlee Quit Singing?

Ashlee Simpson is telling friends she’s so eager to launch an acting career that she’s giving up singing to concentrate on it full-time. “She wanted so badly to play Meryl Streep’s daughter in the film version of the musical Mamma Mia!, but she had to pass up the chance because she’s contractually committed to getting another album out,� a source tells Star.

Why are Demi & Penelope new BFF’s?

Penelope Cruz has a very Hollywood BFF these days: Demi Moore! “Demi and Penelope met last year through Salma Hayek and have been getting along like gangbusters ever since,� a source tells Star. Demi is even throwing Cruz a bash to celebrate her work in the acclaimed movie Volver, the source says, adding: “Demi is kind of obsessed with Penelope- she loves everything about her!�

Liz & Arun to Wed; Hugh & Jemima No Longer

The stars are aligned for Elizabeth Hurley, and textile heir Arun Nayar, unfortunately the same can’t be said for Liz’s ex, Hugh Grant who recently broke up with his girlfriend of three years, Jemima Kahn. A source tells Star, Liz and Nayar plan to wed on March 3 in the British Costwolds at her favorite spot, The Village Pub, near her country home.

Charlie & Brooke to Wed?

Wedding bells may ring in the near future for Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller. Nothing screams engagement like a heart-shaped, jewel-encrusted gold band that was spotted on Brooke’s ring finger this past Valentine’s. Charlie’s rep denied the engagement, but the two seemed to be floating on Cloud 9 as they dined at Cut, Wolfgang Puck’s posh steakhouse in Beverly Hills.

Gwyneth & Chris on the Rocks?

Speculation of a rocky marriage between Gwyneth and Chris heightens after her public appearance on February 15 at an American Cancer Society fund-raiser, where Gwyneth showed up solo, and was extremely dismal-looking. A source reveals that Gwyneth, who was the guest of honor, “didn’t’ say a word to anyone while she walked into the party.� Stephen Huvane, Gwyneth’s rep, claims, “(she) doesn’t’ attend public events with her husband – she doesn’t want to put her relationship out there for public consumption.� C’mon now – if that was the case she may have thought twice about selling newborn photos of her baby girl, Apple!

Courteney & David on the Rocks?

It looks like Jen’s unlucky love streak may be rubbing off on Courteney Cox, and husband David Arquette, who seem to be going through a tough time. Recently, Courteney and David have been spotted solo; Courtney at Malibu’s Nobu on Feb 17 with single gal pals, Sheryl Crow, and Jennifer Aniston, while the night before, David was seen at an NBA Celebrity Tournament in Las Vegas. Things seem more suspicious when Cox was spotted with Dirt co-star, Josh Stewart, shooting pool at W. Hollywood’s Barney’s Beanery. Courteney’s new show seems to be her main focus which she and David “had words about�. A source adds, “When Courteney isn’t on the phone with someone connected to the show, she’s going off to meetings or hanging out with cast members socially.� David and Courteney were once referred to as the oddest couple in Hollywood, and while opposites may attract, the differences of these two may pull them apart. “Sometimes when you get to know someone so well, what was once endearing just becomes irritating.�

Jack Crushes on Penelope

Jake Gyllenhaal fell hard for the irresistible Penelope Cruz when he met her on February 11, at The orange British Academy Film Awards. A source tells Star Jake “was entranced,� and Penelope, “was very sweet and flirtatious, touching his arm and making contact.� It looks like Orlando Bloom has some competition!

Jennifer Hudson to Wed?

It looks like everything is falling into place for Jennifer Hudson; after pulling in a slur of acting awards, and an Oscar nomination, it looks like an engagement proposal may be in her near future as well! According to a source, James Payton, Hudson’s boyfriend of 8 years, James Payton is “getting ready� to propose. The source adds, “He’s getting ready – when he can catch the right romantic moments with her.�

Gwen & Gavin Eager for Baby #2

After 9 months of parenthood and loving every moment of it, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale are getting ready to try for a second! A source tells Star, “The fact that Gwen is 37 has forced them to make pregnancy a priority.� Gwen’s rep denies the rush claiming, “Gwen is about to embark on a world tour and will be busy through the end of 2007.� Her rep conveniently left out the fact that the international tour dates are still TBA.

Vanessa’s Dying to Ditch MTV!

Thanks to Nick Lachey, Vanessa Minnillo is a globally recognized star. Now, insiders say she’s itching to use her newfound fame to bust out of the confines of the small screen and leave MTV’s TRL behind. On Feb. 14, reports began swirling that TRL, the popular video request show she’s helped host since 2003, was going to be cancelled- and that MTV would not be renewing its contract with Vanessa when it expires in April. When Vanessa, who is also a correspondent on Entertainment Tonight, began dating Nick last March, her TV roles had consisted primarily of hosting duties and walk-ons. But seven months later she snagged a coveted role in Jessica Alba’s upcoming blockbuster, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Although Vanessa’s reps are keeping tight-lipped about her career plans, Vanessa did rule out one possible path- singing. She tells Star� “If you heard me in the shower, you would know that it’s definitely not going to happen.�

Eva & Tony; Baby-Ready

With 07.07.2007 quickly approaching, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are not only busy planning for their wedding, but rumor has it - they’re working just as hard for their first baby. Now that Eva “has found the man of her dreams (she’s) itching to be pregnant.� Another source reveals Eva may even ask for her Desperate Housewives’ character, Gabrielle Solis, to become pregnant next season, which the rep of Carlos’s character denies!
