Kate Winslet may sue over diet article

Kate Winslet has always eschewed the stick thin look so popular amongst most Hollywood starlets. She often speaks out against extreme dieting and has been lauded for her decision to remain one of the curvier A-listers. With this in mind, it's only natural that Winslet would be pursuing legal action against a British tabloid's report that she had been seeing a diet doctor in Santa Monica.

The tabloid, Grazia, claims that Kate had been visiting the Chinese Healing Institute in order to receive neck pain and weight loss treatments. While on the red carpet for the BAFTA awards Sunday night, Winslet said the story was "completely untrue."

Lawyers for Winslet said that they were looking into charging Grazia with libel. The actress' rep said, "Kate is angry and upset about it because it is an issue she feels very strongly about. She will be issuing legal proceedings. She wants to get the message out there."

Winslet told reporters on Sunday, "I will continue to say what I feel about this issue of women being thin and emaciated. It's just out of control. I know I'm a role model to young women. It's a role that I take very, very seriously and I would never want anyone to ever think I was a hypocrite in doing something like going to a diet doctor, for goodness sake. I mean, it's really, really ridiculous...I'm going to fight for myself. I don't want people thinking that I would ever go to a diet doctor, I would ever buy into that stuff. I never have done, I never will."
