Did Ralph Fiennes join the mile-high club with a stewardess?
Flight attendants may do it in the sky, but that doesn't mean they want to join the mile-high club. A Qantas flight attendant is currently denying the allegation that she engaged in sexual intercourse with actor Ralph Fiennes in an airplane bathroom last month. The flight attendant, Lisa Robertson, has since been suspended without pay by Qantas. Fiennes was on a flight from Darwin to Mumbai last month while touring India on an STD awareness campaign for UNICEF. He met 38-year-old Robinson, a former cop, and then joined her in the crew area while she was on a break. In Robinson's statement to Qantas - which was obtained by an Australian newspaper - she defended her decision to let Fiennes in the crew area, even though it was against the rules. She said, "This is common practice on long flights to build a rapport with passengers." But it was what happened next that was not common practice. Robinson says, While conversing with Mr. Fiennes during my break, I expressed a need to go to the toilet. I entered it, he followed me and entered the same toilet. I explained to him that this was inappropriate and asked him to leave. Mr. Fiennes became amorous towards me and, after a short period of time, I convinced him to leave the toilet. I left a short time later. At no time did any crew member come to my assistance. At no time were any other customers aware of this incident. At no time did I put the Qantas name or reputation in jeopardy." Two of Robinson's fellow crewmembers are the ones who reported the incident to the airline. Qantas intends to investigate the incident and will fire Robinson, should it be proven did have sex with Fiennes during the flight. But two other crew members caught the pair leaving the bathroom and told their superiors, and Qantas confirmed that it had suspended Robinson without pay pending an investigation. |
