Details on Anna Nicole Smith's death

Former Playboy Playmate and Guess Model Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday afternoon after she was discovered unconscious in her hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. She was 39 reports TMZ.

It seems like every news outlet in the world is reporting on Anna Nicole Smith's sudden death. We have combed through a bunch of stories and selected the juiciest bits of information from each of them. Enjoy - but not too much, she is dead, you know.

Via Local TV Station CBS 2:

Illegal narcotics and prescriptions were found in Anna's hotel room at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Anna's body, which is at the Broward Co. Medical Examiner's Office, will undergo an autopsy and toxicology report today. Test results may take weeks to be finalized.

A witness at the hotel said, "We just see the ambulance. They pushed her in - just shove her in really fast."

Anna's unconscious body was found by her private nurse.

Anna was dead by the time she reached the Memorial Regional Hospital.

Via Perez Hilton:

Anna's lawyer, Ron Rale, said she had not "been well the past few days, she's had cold and flu symptoms."

Local police officers shut down area streets to speed up Anna's three-mile trip to the hospital.

Via Access Hollywood:

Anna likely died due to choking on her own vomit.

A source told "AH" that Anna had taken a "children's sedative" and "kept passing out" earlier that day.

One of her bodyguards gave her CPR about one hour before she died. She was also given Narcan, which is used to removed drugs from a person's system.

Anna may have died at the hotel.

Anna's mother, Vergie Arthur, told "Good Morning America," "I think she had too many drugs, just like Danny [Smith's late son]. I tried to warn her about drugs and the people that she hung around with. She didn't listen. She was too drugged up. By the last interview I saw of her, she was so wasted."

Arthur is going to the Bahamas today to file for custody of Smith's 5-month-old daughter, Dannielynn.

Anna and her partner Howard K. Stern were in town to get a yacht they had recently purchased. They planned to take it to the Bahamas today (Friday).

Anna's lawyer Ron Rale said that reports of Anna's death being drug-related were "a bunch of nonsense."

Via Janet Charlton:

A source at the hotel said Anna "out of it" throughout her stay there.

She was "REALLY dreading" the DNA test her daughter was to undergo. The source suspected that the father of Anna's baby might not be Howard K. Stern or Larry Birkhead and even speculated that it might be Anna's son Daniel who fathered Dannielynn.

Via CBS's Showbuzz:

Anna may have attempted suicide before. "Entertainment Tonight" anchor Mark Steines said on "The Early Show" that after Anna's son's death, she was found face down in her pool. Her bodyguard gave her CPR and "and saved her life."

In her interview with Steines, Smith said, "I feel strong. I'm tired. I'm really tired of the fighting, but I'm not going to stop the fight until it's done."

Steines said that Anna intended to marry Howard K. Stern. He told "The Early Show," "I can tell you I had plans to come back down here on the 23rd of February to attend and cover their wedding. Howard had proposed. They came here alone when they picked up the boat. Howard was going to pick up the ring. She wanted a 10-carat diamond ring. She didn't care necessarily about the quality or the clarity but she wanted it to have color and they were here planning a future."

Via Us Weekly:

A hotel employee said, "Anna looked extremely bloated when she vomited out something white before having a seizure early this afternoon. The reaction was so violent that people in the hotel thought she had some tragic food poisoning. But we were told it was a drug overdose by the people who saw it."

Anna had been sick with flu-like symptoms all week and was having headaches and nausea. She "may have been taking a drug for this."

Upon arriving at the hospital, Anna's body was not entirely covered, but as she was brought in, "the white sheet was then put completely over her body."

A doctor said the circumstances of her death were "highly suspicious and being investigated."

Via Life & Style Weekly:

Bobby Trendy, Anna's decorator, said, "I was with her yesterday in Hollywood, Florida, and she seemed happy and upbeat. She was so happy to see me. We hugged. She seemed like her old self, making silly jokes and laughing. I'm so shocked I can't even tell you. She was in a good mood — she looked fine, she seemed fine…She had a nurse with her because she had fallen recently and hurt herself."

Via Star magazine:

Capt. Dan Fitzgerald, of the Hollywood (Fla.) Fire Rescue Squad, said, "Hollywood Rescue stepped in and took over at the scene. We intubated the patient — that means to put a tube down her throat. Started an I.V. We pushed all medications. We attempted pacing her, which would be an external pacemaker for the heart...we couldn't get her heart beating."

Via "Entertainment Tonight":

Anna's nurse called the front desk operator, who called 911.

Via the Daily Mail:

An insider said, "Her partner Howard K. Stern said Smith had a high temperature on Wednesday night. She was suffering from flu-like symptoms upon her arrival at the Hard Rock hotel on Monday, but her fever skyrocketed by Wednesday. That afternoon, she fell in the bathroom and hit her head. She said she was feeling fine, had a meal and went back to bed. Yesterday she went to take a nap. When she did not wake after a few hours, she was checked on and found unresponsive by one of her employees. The employee pulled back a sheet and discovered that she appeared to have choked on her own vomit. Her eyes were also dilated."
