Despite reports, Eminem is not engaged to his ex-wife

On Tuesday, London's Daily Mirror reported that Eminem, a.k.a., Marshall Mathers, was engaged again to his former wife, Kim. If you watched last week's "20/20," this news probably came as a big surprise. Kim was interviewed for the show, which centered around revenge. She spoke about her ongoing problems with Eminem and made it look as though their relationship was over for good. Backing up Kim's side of the story, Eminem's rep, Dennis Dennehy, told People magazine, "Those reports are absolutely untrue."

The source for the engagement rumor was Eminem's friend and collaborator, Akon. Akon told the Mirror, "Eminem still loves Kim. They have one of those relationships where they are off one minute and back together the next. He can't live with her, and he can't live without her. But they are meant for each other. They are engaged again. Eminem will always love Kim. He is the mother of his child - so that's difficult too. He loves spending time with them."

If Eminem and Kim were to marry again, it would be their third walk down the aisle. They exchanged vows for the first time in 1999 and were together for two years. When they married a second time last January, they split only 82 days later.
